Transcendental Gloom

Intergalactic Synergy 4

J.J. Abrams is looking like a pretty solid candidate to bring Star Wars back into legitimacy, as his warm-up for Star Wars Episode VII is rocks an 87% on rottentomatoes:

A brand new Star Wars trilogy is not all Disney has in mind, as a matter of fact the mass-media corporation says that at least one spin-off film is also “in the works”:

Quote1.pngWe are in fact working on a few stand-alone films,” says Disney CEO Bob Iger. (Lawrence) Kasdan and Simon Kinberg are both working on films derived from great Star Wars characters that are not part of the overall saga.  So we plan to make Star Wars VII, VIII and IX over roughly a six-year period of time starting in 2015. But there are going to be a few other films released in that period of time too.Quote2.png

Ya go ahead and sign me up for all of that.  Thanks.

Naturally speculation about potential “standalone films” has run amuck: everyone from Boba Fett to Yoda to a young Han Solo to a Seven Samurai Jedi Knight Ensemble Film are rumored as possibilities.  The last one sounding pretty boss.  Oh wait.  Nevermind.  It was Zack Snyder’s idea.  And let’s be honest with ourselves.  That guy is a baddie.

From Flint to Gold

“Oh well, I’m just tired of losing.”

So much still a child, childlike, with this child’s quick, short attention span, an impulsiveness, and a love of portable electronics. Then she gets in the ring and the temperature of the room begins to rise. You cannot take your eyes off  her.

claressa

Her father could have been a contender, but jail put an end to his career. When he made an offhand remark about admiring Laila Ali, his 11-year old daughter thought he was encouraging her to box. He wasn’t, but the misreading was typical with this child, whose innocent optimism may be her greatest weapon. Her father initially refusing to let her train in boxing, relented, thinking she would get beat up and surely, (hoping) she would just quit.

-As a competitor, she possesses a ferocious desire to establish dominance over her opponents.

-In the boxing ring there is a naturalness in the ring that only comes to those who took up boxing as children.

-Her balance and handspeed are superb.

Send in the Clowns

Don’t you love farce?
My fault I fear.
I thought that you’d want what I want.
Sorry, my dear.
But where are the clowns?
Quick, send in the clowns.

Don’t bother they are here.

Sometimes it is humour that is needed in tragic circumstances.  You have to laugh sometimes, it hurts so bad.

It is estimated that the country of South Africa has more people with AIDS/HIV virus than any other country.

It's been a long time coming
It's going to be a long time gone
And it appears to be a long
Appears to be a long
Appears to be a long time
It's a long, long, long, long time
Before the dawn
--Crosby, Stills, and Nash

What if you had a rock star run a country?

It would be a disaster…

It looks like there isn't going to be any change. It is still going to be a long time gone. Kim Jong Un is going for another 60 years of misery for his subjects. Nothing to envy. It will be a continuing disaster, hundreds of thousand malnourish for whole lives and generations to come. Far worse than 1984. Marvel-The-Wolverine-Movie-2013-HD-Wallpaper

With the “Nolan Treatment” sweeping across hollywood: everyone is now going for darker, grittier, and more grounded stuff.  And thus we have Wolverine wielding a samurai sword:

Jackman and Co. will be trying to seperate itself from the flop that was X-men Origins: Wolverine, a blunder that even got a good Magneto project cancelled.  Director James Mangold is relatively unknown, but Jackman seems pretty pumped about going in depth with his favorite beserker.  Let’s do the same.

Game of Thrones Season 3 premieres tonight at 9pm be sure to tune in or go to HBOGO.com!!

Concrete Comradery

Concrete Comradery - 2

Shortly after trashing it’s first script, Justice League has been given new life as rumor has it Christian Bale is in talks to reprise his role as The Dark Knight in a JLA film.  Similar rumors dictate that Christopher Nolan has been named “godfather” of the entire DCU at WB Studios.  While both news stories are rumors and should be taken lightly, Justice League is looking a lot better than it was a couple weeks ago.

Meanwhile, a source claiming to have seen an early screening of Man of Steel is claiming that it is “the best movie of the year”.  Which let’s be honest is pretty stupid because it’s only March, and the movie isn’t even out yet.  Nevertheless, many think a Superman/Batman film starring Bale/Cavill is the most effective segway into an ensemble Justice League film.  And they make some pretty good points.  Why do Superman and Batman make such a powerful dynamic duo?  Because an  Artisan/Guardian symbiosis is a powerful thing.  Let’s take a look.

They failed for two years, and time was running out, most of them were seniors in college.  Last chance.

They won when nobody had given them a chance.

Crucial Point

It is a popular Western view to say Crisis in Chinese is a simple combination of danger and opportunity.  But that is not exactly correct.  It’s a little more complicated.

Crisis

Chinese philologist Victor H. Mair of the University of Pennsylvania calls the popular interpretation of wēijī in the English-speaking world a “widespread public misperception.” Mair suggests that  in wēijī is closer to “crucial point” than to “opportunity.”

Nevertheless, They can relate to either interpretation.

They struggled much of their young lives, very close to danger and no opportunity before the crucial pointwhen the opportunity was encountered and made, by hard work and being very smart TOGETHER.

The Danger has passed.  Now, China is the land of Opportunity for those who have the right combination and the right timing  – and…

They do.

We have Armageddon.

Want to make money?

Yes?!

No, I have yet to meet personally an individual who wants to make money.

Everybody that I know, wants to spend money -- admit it, you do too.  Making money is work.

Well -- he will demonstrate how to make money ---  If you watch and listen, and learn.
